More to go health and coir ministry
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala chief Minister Ommen Chandy is confident about the policies implemented by health and coir department of the present ministry. A lot of developmental policies are implemented by both the department to achieve more in both sectors. “We will try our best to implement all policies initiated by both the departments “Said Ommen Chandy here on Monday. He was talking in the ‘meet the press’ program organized by Trivandrum press club.
The chief minister highlighted the policies formulated by health ministry under Adoor Prakash. A lot of polices has been initiated for the better functioning of the health department. The main area to focus on under health department is the lack of proper legislation to tackle the problems related to organ transplantation. So many illegal transactions are going all over the state in the name of organ transplantation. It is not a secret that so many of the established hospitals are playing a pivotal role in the promotion of organ trade. The new decision of the health ministry is to form a committee to curb the illegalities in the organ transaction. Those who want to buy and donate the organs can act only under the consent and the guidelines formulated by the particular governmental committee. More over several policies are initiated to improve the poor conditions of the hospitals and to supply high cost medicines under low cost to the BPL card holders. Measures have been taken by coir ministry to improve the conditions of the coir workers
